BIOGRAPHY

Guillermo Bekes was born in Santa Fe, Argentina, in 1962. Since 1982 he has participated in Exhibitions at provincial and national art showrooms in Argentina and other countries, winning several awards. Starting at 1986 he also performs solo exhibitions in Galleries, Museums and Art showrooms of Argentina, Spain, Brazil and Uruguay.

In 1993 he moved to the countryside in Entre Rios (Argentina) and opened his studio. This decision was taken based on his desire to fully understand the fundamentals of natural landscapes, perceived from the simplicity of everyday's life. This experience, which lasted over 10 years, turned him into being particularly devoted to the genre and the theme of the Argentinean littoral.

In 2004 he moved to Buenos Aires and during the years he lived there, he began to develop in parallel with his scenic work, the genre of the nude, both in painting and drawing. This new development in his career was encouraged by his studies at the Stimulus Association of Fine Arts in Buenos Aires, the Circulo de Bellas Artes and by the study of the work made by the classic artists of the Museo del Prado in Madrid.

In 2006, he was invited to Spain to perform a solo exhibition, for which he painted for the first time several regions of Spain, incorporating new visions and thematic elements based on his previous experiences.

Since 2011 he lives in Madrid and has begun to produce works within the theme of urban landscape, painting images of Buenos Aires, Madrid, Paris and London.

His work is currently being exhibited in public and private collections in Argentina, Uruguay, Brazil, USA, Spain, France, UK, Monaco, Israel and Romania.
